Woody Sagoo: Woody grew up in the circuslike atmosphere of the carnival and is related to many of the carnival families in Ireland and abroad. Indeed his Scottish grandfather, Hector Mac Donald, was responsible for starting the now world famous travelling carnival "Funderland". Woody developed an early interest in music and graduated from entertaining tourists and holiday makers with tumbles and twists on a trampoline, to entertaining audiences with a guitar and a tender voice. Woody’s East African, Asian and Irish parentage, and his carnival youth provide him with a widely diverse background and a unique perspective on which to draw on for inspiration. Woody’s sensitivity is evident in songs like "Beautiful Children" and "All Here". while "Refugee Angel" and "Truth Gets The Chair" point to his developing social conscience. darker compositions about the shadier sides of sexuality like “Taste Me Burn My Skin” and the more tongue in cheek “Eddie Thinks He Owns The World” indicate Woody’s appetite for a broad range of themes. Woody is a witty and inspired live performer with a strong following all over the south of Ireland.
IN RECENT TIMES WOODY HAS HEADLINED WITH AND PLAYED SUPPORT FOR A VARIETY OF MUSICIANS INCLUDING CHRISTY MOORE AND DONAL LUNNY, JIM PAGE, SONNY CONDELL, MUNDY, BRANDO COLM QUEARNEY, KEN STRINGFELOW

having searched for years I believe that i have finally found the music that will inspire my future; its been a long haul but now thanks to woody's sheer class and willingness to achieve what some might call a miricalious or angleic sound i feel free to live a life worth living... thanks again, for so much more than that amazing music..
